The checklist, zone by zone

Three pages. Walk the property with it this weekend. It's the same sequence we follow on a site visit, minus the judgment calls on trees — those are the part you hire us for.

  • Zone 0 (0–5 ft): the ember-resistant zone — mulch, plants, fences, gates, what's under the deck
  • Zone 1 (5–30 ft): ladder fuels, shrub islands, spacing, firewood, the stuff under trees
  • Zone 2 (30–100 ft): spacing by slope, dead material, access
  • Trees: roof and chimney clearance, deadwood, the species to look at hardest
  • The Bay Area high-hazard plant list, with what to replace each one with
  • A seasonal rhythm: what to do in March, June, September

No email required. If you'd like to be told when it's updated, send a note.

Seasonal vegetation readiness timeline: spring reset, peak season weekly checks, red flag readiness, when fire is near
